A BILL to repeal article two-b, chapter five-b of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended; and to repeal section eight, article two-d of said
chapter, all relating to repeal of archaic language relating
to economic development programs that have completed their
duties or are otherwise defunct and inactive; repealing
provisions creating the enterprise zone authority; and
repealing provisions creating the governor's work force
development council.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
§1. Repeal of article creating the enterprise zone
authority.
Article two-b, chapter five-b of the code of West Virginia,
one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended, is hereby
repealed.
§2. Repeal of section creating the governor's work force development council.
Section eight, article two-d, chapter five-b of the code of
West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as amended,
is hereby repealed.
NOTE: The purpose of this legislation is to repeal sections
in the code relating to economic development programs that have
completed their work or are otherwise defunct or inactive.
This bill is recommended for passage during the 1997 Regular
Legislative Session by the Joint Standing Committee on Government
Organization.
